THIS IS A COMPREHENSIVE AND DEDICATED SEARCH

 

OUR CLIENT is a 100+ year old American based manufacturing company.  As one of the global leaders with over $3.3B in annual sales their name is recognized readily in the marketplace.  Their core business focus is the design, manufacture, market and service Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration equipment.


THE POSITION is a newly created due to growth.  It reports to the Engineering Manager.  In this position you will be a key in-house technical resource for anything related to electric motors and motor control for the company's products.   Our client doesn't specifically make electric motors.  They ultimately specify, provide design input, purchase them from multiple suppliers.

The primary job responsibilities are:
  • be the technical resource for electric motor and/or motor control issues for predominantly new products
  • technically interface with suppliers to insure specifications are properly met
  • help develop alternate suppliers for fractional, ECM and integral motors
  • develop or enhance motor qualification test protocol and accelerated reliability testing
  • trouble-shoot various motor failure modes
  • interface with multiple product platform teams to insure the implementation of motor and the control

CREDENTIALS & REQUIREMENTS - The successful candidate . . . .
  • must possess a minimum of 5-years experience related to design, development and application of electric motors and related electronics or have worked in a similar capacity such as out-lined above.
  • must have knowledge and experience with PSC or IM or ECM type of motor and control
  • must be knowledgeable of commonly accepted motor qualification and reliability testing methods
  • must be able to conduct failure-mode trouble-shooting
  • must possess solid documentation skills
  • must be able to successfully perform in a team environment
  • must have knowledge of FMEA, PFMEA, Quality and Reliability procedures
  • must have a BS level (or higher) engineering degree.  BSEE preferred, BSME considered
  • must possess good communication skills
  • must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship.  Will consider H1B visa holder.  TN1 visa accepted
  • A PLUS - knowledge of fan and blower operational dynamics
  • A PLUS - sound and vibration knowledge
  • A PLUS - past participation in supplier qualification and development activities
