TouchPoint Recruiting has been retained by SILICIS TECHNOLOGIES INC to assist in their search for an Electrical Engineer. 
 

Silicis Technologies is a new robotics start-up that has successfully developed an Unmanned Aerial System for the Defense & Aerospace sector. We are moving quickly into initial commercialization looking for dynamic engineers to help launch the platform. The Unmanned Aerial System will be the first in a series of innovative robotics solutions developed in our fast passed, collaborative technical environment.
 
Job description: As a key member of the Silicis team, you will be responsible for development, execution and measurement of Silicis’ board designs, schematic, and layouts as well a writing/testing firmware. This position will also conduct bench testing & debugging, perform final QA, and continue to refine the assembly processes of our first release. As a Electrical Engineer at Silicis you will also work closely with other disciplines as needed in a team environment that includes other electrical, software, mechanical, and aeronautical experts all working toward the successful launch of Silicis’ initial UAV platform.
**Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires candidates to be a U.S. Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Visa
 
Primary Responsibilities:
• Writing, debugging and validating firmware
• Participate in software, electronics and systems design requirements/reviews for identification of metrics, system risk and reliability analysis
• Board/Electronics design using Orcad Capture & Layout
• Bench and in system debugging/testing
• Testing and QA prior to final assembly
• Maintain standards compliance
• Work closely with Software Engineers on electronics & low level system interaction
• Sourcing & evaluation of parts as part of design
• Establishing/perfecting final assembly processes
• Perform multidisciplinary tasks in order to meet design/delivery requirements & timelines
 
Preferred Skills:
• Motor control, Brushed DC & BLDC
• Knowledge of .Net framework and C#
• Knowledge of mechanical systems
• Soldering & board rework
• Robotics development experience
• Diverse experience with different DSP/Microprocessor/Microcontroller families
• Military/Defense/Aerospace experience
• Track record of handling multiple projects with minimal supervision
 
Required Skills:
• BS or greater in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and coding systems
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C development
• Experience with schematic & board layout
• Electrical design experience for low power & power distribution systems
• Digital systems design experience
• Design experience with analog/digital sensors
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel & Access
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, & participate in field testing of platforms
• Must be able to satisfy ITAR company requirements
