You will define technical and compliance requirements based on product concepts. Develop detailed equipment specifications, block diagrams, component selection, and bill of materials. Lead performance analysis and modeling, including thermal assessment, power flow simulations, FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis) etc. Support and lead the development, identification, and/or implementation of communication protocols, etc. Support and lead the development of testing and verification - validation programs. Lead the acquisition of compliance certifications (e.g., UL). Support project management and communication to executive management and other groups.

Required: 10+ years in the design of power electronics and power systems for power storage, smart grid, solar, and-or other alternative energy applications. Development of voltage converters - inverters (AC-DC, DC-DC), circuit breakers, relays, electrical switchgear/boards, and/or control systems. Protection devices, inverters, and other electronics for 100KW systems. Short circuit, arc fault, and time-current coordination analyses. Knowledge of communication protocols. Standards - Regulatory – Agency requirements. SCADA.
Pluses: PhD/MS. PE. Technical understanding of renewable energy generators (photovoltaic, wind, etc.). Energy storage. Battery charging and management.
