Responsible for setting up, checking, and correcting operational and experimental electrical machinery, circuitry, and equipment while adhering to pre-established guidelines and engineering specifications.
Define, deploy and maintain printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes.
Provide PCBA manufacturing input and plans for design reviews acting as an expert in design for assembly, manufacturing, repair and rework.
As necessary, analyze design of manufacturing line, drive design and validation of stencils, manufacturing fixtures, evaluate and specify equipment including but not limited to solder paste/printing/jetting, pick and place machines, reflow ovens, inspection, etc., ESD processes and procedures, component handling and tracking.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Works under limited supervision.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent work experience
10 or more years of experience in PCB board assembly.
Experience in reading schematics and electronic assembly drawings a must.
Read, understand and work effectively with mechanical drawings and documentation including Bills of Material.
Ability to solder both surface mount and through-hole components
Preferred experience in space integration and test as well as electronic assembly.
Preferred familiarity with NASA workmanship STD8739.1, 8739.2, 8739.3 and 8739.4 or J-STD-001, IPC-A-610E
