Our client and its parent company , a leading developer of fingerprint sensor devices, are building a Silicon Development team in Rochester, NY and Wilmington, MA and are seeking an experienced Mixed-Signal Design Engineer to provide technical leadership for architecture, design, design methodology for state-of-the-art mixed-signal fingerprint sensing devices. As Senior Staff Mixed-Signal Design Engineer, you will work closely with colleagues in the Silicon Development organization as well as with other teams within the R&D, System Engineering and Sensor Development teams to deliver high-volume products based on cutting-edge sensor technologies into Mobile, Smart Card and IoT markets. Tasks and responsibilities: Lead the design of mixed-signal circuit functions, top-level analog architecture and definition of requirements for capacitive fingerprint sensing IC. Mentoring and assisting other members of the design team. Guide architecture and design of various mixed-signal and signal processing blocks. Providing technical analysis and suggestions to supervisor and cross functional teams in timely manner for strategic and tactical decisions Provide design and architecture direction for circuit blocks such as analog front-end (AFE), filtering and signal-processing chain, low-power and low-noise amplifiers, voltage references, bias blocks, precision oscillators and data converters (A/D and D/A blocks) Interface with digital design team as analog lead for optimum chip level design of functionality and performance Perform deep-dive technical analysis across multiple domains such as system-level partitioning, subsystem architecture, noise and SNR analysis, sensor modeling and performance estimation, power management and low-power design Lead top level Verification strategy and methodology from mixed-signal point of view Assist Design Validation results to ensure correlation with simulation results and design expectations Meeting customers on and off site as required Provide technical leadership in supporting full product lifecycle from initial concept through to product development into production ramp Lead timely and successful delivery of projects Required Experience: 10 or more years of design experience in the development of analog / mixed-signal ICs Technical lead experience as chip lead or analog lead. Ability to work within a multi-discipline team from architecture development through production and customer support Mixed-signal circuit modeling, design and simulation experience to define requirements for analog blocks and to determine architectures Creativity and analysis skills with ability to research and devise new sensing / biometric algorithms, circuits and architectures Excellent written and communication skills Desirable Experience: Ability to create detailed written specifications of complex circuits and systems Ability to explain complex design concepts at various levels of detail for different audiences Knowledge of analog and mixed-signal IC development processes and techniques Ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed, cross-functional team organization Ability to effectively transfer knowledge within the organization Education: BS / MS / PhD in Electrical, Computer or Microelectronics Engineering Personal capabilities: Flexible; good listening skills; dependable and able to deliver on commitments Enjoying assisting others and mentoring junior members for their development Potential: Our client is a pioneering company in fingerprint sensing technology.
