The company provides high-quality, reliable semiconductor products and services for the networking, communications, automotive, consumer, security and other markets throughout North and South America. Today, the company is focusing on single-chip system-LSI solutions that capitalize on their core competencies in computers, communications, and semiconductors. They are looking for an experienced Applications Engineers to be based in the Phoenix,AZ area design center to support customers worldwide.
Tasks:
h Support customer integration of Transceivers into their products
h Provide introduction and training to customers on Transceiver ICs
h Supply full collateral to customers: User Guides, Data Sheets, Apps notes, data
h Manage customer CRs and PRs (Change Requests and Problem Resolutions)
h Preview customers schematics and PCB layouts V provide effective feedback
h Support customer debug and optimization of their designs (on or off site)
h FW regression testing and delivery on customers platforms
h Support customer timing/command control between transceivers and their BB
Requirements:
h Customer Applications or interaction experience highly desired
h Knowledge of WCDMA (3G/UMTS), GSM, and/or LTE required
h Working knowledge of cellular transceivers or cellular phones a must have
h RF design experience desired, with general Tx and Rx theory understanding
h Knowledge of Typical RF tests/requirements: NF, IMD, Power out, spurs, etc
h Alternative to RF, digital/mixed signal experience, timing/protocol knowledge
h Expertise in using lab equipment:
o Call boxes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc
Requirements:
5 to 10 years relative experience in Applications Engineer positions or Design experience for wireless handset devices.
Applications engineering or product design/integration
Knowledge of cellular test systems, Labview or similar test automation suites.@
Knowledge/understanding of WCDMA, LTE or GSM requirements.
Previous prior product design and/or applications engineering support applications engineering or product design/integration
Experience with RF/Analog test equipment, Digital signal analysis equipment
BSEE minimum, MSEE preferred
