Description The individual chosen for this position will be in charge of a full department of engineers and technicians devoted to the fabrication of LED Chips.

Responsibilities:
Lead the LED fab process engineering team.
Manage, mentor, and insure the continued development of a diverse team of process engineers and technicians.
Work effectively with operations, equipment maintenance, and development personnel within the LED fab and across optoelectronic business unit departments to achieve department and business unit goals.
Partner with the research and development organization to effectively transfer new processes, products, and technologies into high volume production.
Partner with product engineering to maintain and improve outgoing product quality.
Drive continuous process improvement, capacity expansion, yield improvement, cost reduction, and quality efforts within the department.
Work with the information systems group to improve fab automation.
Partner with EHS to address any potential safety concerns and insure a safe work environment.



Job Requirements: .
BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, or other semiconductor related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
5 years experience as a Fab Process Engineering Manager.
In depth technical knowledge in one or more of following areas: Lithography, Etch, Metallization, and Wafer Bonding/Grinding.
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities required.
Strong attention to detail and hands-on attitude.
Ability to manage & complete multiple projects simultaneously and successfully.
Must be a self-motivated, high-energy individual with a strong drive for accomplishment and a whatever-it-takes work ethic.
Flexible work schedule to support 24 x 7 high volume manufacturing site.
Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder

Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of diverse semiconductor engineering experience.
5+ years experience as a process engineering manager in a compound semiconductor environment.

Manager Summary:
The OPTO Sustaining Engineering manager is looking for someone with significant wafer fab engineering management experience, preferably from a compound semiconductor environment. Candidates must have an Engineering Degree, and have experience in a variety of different Wafer Fab processes (photo, etch, wafer bonding, metallization).
