DescriptionThis position is part of a R&D team that is responsible for the development and improvement of MOCVD epitaxial processes and equipment. The successful candidate will be a resourceful, hands-on, problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges. The person should thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented atmosphere and be capable and willing to work in a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support a team of scientists and engineers through ownership of equipment aspects of MOCVD growth.
Provide contributions to equipment improvement through analysis of failure modes, hands-on troubleshooting of problems, and then own subsequent design and procedure improvements.
Writing and implementing procedures that are suitable for a variety of end-users including equipment technicians and operators. Implementation includes face-to-face training, documentation of user proficiency, and generation of follow-up revisions based on user feedback.
Ownership of tool installations, retrofits, and modifications from the design stage, to parts acquisition, build-up, installation and qualification. This work requires close and direct collaboration with the process teams.
To be the team lead for a group of technician involved in multiple projects; this includes ownership of problems that arise and then resolving the problems by providing leadership in both technical and organization matters.
Support 24x7 R&D operations, including off-shift response as necessary

Job Requirements: .
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to make individual contributions while staying focused on the goals of the group.
Able and willing to support 24X7 projects.
Able to adjust to changing priorities and schedules to keep projects on-track.
Strong attention to detail.
Self-starter with strong personal work ethic; must have a whatever it takes attitude.
Must be able to regularly lift 65 lbs
Must be able to work in a clean room environment for entire shift
Willing and able to work around electrical (high and low voltage), compressed gasses, acids, solvents, vacuum pump oils, and other chemicals
Computer literate, in particular experience with standard PC software: MS Word and Excel

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
4-7 years experience with computer controlled manufacturing equipment
Hands-on experience with semiconductor vacuum technology, especially MOCVD growth
Ability to read and make electrical schematics
Previous work in a cleanroom environment
Previous project management experience

Summary:
Qualified candidates need to have experience with Vacuum equipment (semiconductor specific).
Equipment Build experience in preferred, we will consider candidates with Equipment Maintenance + Modification experience.
